Hillary lead yoga this morning. She also has students create captions for the New Yorker cartoon contest (on the last page). She is scaffolding the experience so students understand how to put words into characters' mouths that are witty and smart.

Puzzling together the 50 nifty United States.

Students are encouraged to close their eyes when they spell and see if they can read the words off the back of their eyelids.

Homework:
20 minutes or more of reading. Fill out reading log.
20 minutes of working on state reports. Every student should have his or her state report in the yellow folder of the binder (we quintuple checked). Visit netstate.com to research or any number of various websites with state info.
4th grade math on Strawberry's website.
5th graders continued their work with cluster problems. Some students began a new problem of the week. Packets will now be downloadable each week in the toolbar at the top of the blog, so you don't have to visit Monday's blog – so will problems of the week, which are not usually homework but may be of interest to parents.
