Students began thinking and learning about magnetism today. These corks had steel sewing needles in them, and when the teacher brushed the tip with a bar magnet and place the corks in a pool of water, they pointed to magnetic north. They also saw how to make a paperclip levitate. Students will write about their observations and ideas tonight.
Homework:
Read 20 minutes or more and record book and pages read on reading log.
Science: write a paragraph about what you understand about each of the two demonstrations today. Your writing should be right under your diagrams in your science notebook.
Math: 4th graders click on Strawberry Blog in the toolbar. 5th graders can download this week's packet in the same toolbar on the top of this page.
