Strawberry and Cerrito got together for our weekly meeting this morning and practiced conversation skills. Students talked about some of the following questions: What is the most important thing in life? What is the biggest problem in the world? Are we alone in the universe? They used a talking object to help direct attention to one speaker at a time.

5th graders got going on Show Me 1/2, a manipulative-based fractions curriculum they will work on all year long. Some topics, like fractions, are so big and so important that it's worth teaching them all year. And using real objects to reinforce understandings is de rigueur at TBS.

Buddy reading so of particular value to our fourth and fifth graders for the practice students get reading with expression and enthusiasm.
