We had a great cultural studies session this afternoon, examining primary source documents from the Lewis and Clark expedition. Students had to decipher Thomas Jefferson's cursive, interpret the map William Clark made on the expedition, and do math with a timeline of the expedition. They are studying who was selected to join the Corps of Discovery, and tonight, in place of Wordly Wise, they are working on an expository reading on this. The final page asks students to select people they know that they would bring on an expedition. Maybe you'll be selected!
