Homework:
Write one page in your science notebook about plant adaptations you saw today. Think about the cacao, the desert and chaparral species, the pigmy forest, etc. So many adaptations!
Read!
Fungus was afoot in the garden today.

We had something like six docents, and each group had a slightly different experience. Here you see students learning about tropical plants.

Cacao spreads its seeds when monkeys eat it and spit out the hard inner seeds after eating the delicious outer fruit.

It was rather magical out there.

Students had to differentiate tanoak from coastal live oak. One way to tell is by the acorns. Beautiful.

Lunch in the mist.

The tiniest mushrooms of the day.

Swamp thing.

Igniting curious minds.

Lots of muddy faces out there today, including the teacher – I couldn't resist.
