Will and I took video of reading group discussions today for us to reflect on tomorrow. I am always amazed by the power of the lens: students were on task!

Homework
Reading: Fill out graphic organizer in your reading group packet that looks like a mountain. If you haven't finished your book, leave the last few spaces blank. Does the shape of that mountain fit your book?

Math:
5th graders are off the hook! No h.w.

4th Grade Blue Group Math:  Today the students practiced multiplication facts and prepared work for their portfolios.
Blue Group homework.

Fourth grade math
Purple group:
We started class with homework sharing and a 5-minute multiplication fact practice.  Then students experimented with creating polygons on geoboards, using pins and rubber bands, and then practiced measuring the area by dividing the polygons into squares, rectangles, and triangles. You can practice at home online here:  Online Geoboard.  Students also started looking through their work to select examples of strengths and challenges for their portfolios.

Fourth grade math homework, due tomorrow
Purple group:
Complete TERC Unit 4, page 69
