It was a day of wrapping up before the five-day break. Fifth graders took a math assessment in 3D geometry and will soon move on to addition, subtraction, and place value of large numbers. We read two different myths from coastal Pacific Native American traditions. Students visualized these image-rich stories and illustrated them with bright colors. These myths served to connect our marine biology study with our California studies. Look forward to two field trips soon after we return from the break. Friday, the 2nd, we head to Duxbury Reef to go tide pooling. Monday, the 5th, we will visit the Marine Mammal Center to participate in their education program, have lunch on Rodeo Beach, and go for a short hike.
