Looking at the Week

Homework:
4th graders no math
5th graders pages 15 and 16 of your packet, which you can download in the Planbook below
Wordly Wise for 20 minutes
Read for 20+ minutes and do a summary on your assignment planner

The digital plan book below details a full week of getting into poetry, building solar ovens (if the rain ever clears), and performing Shakespeare. Permission slips came home today for the New Almaden Quiksilver Mine trip next week, and recall that tomorrow's Save the Bay trip is cancelled. Wednesday is a spirit day – each class chose its own theme – and our students landed on solid colors and mustaches. You choose the color, you choose the mustache, but look forward to hilarious photos from a Wednesday of bigotes (Spanish for mustache) and colores.

Big book!

Talent Friday last week was on chakras and gems. The students loved it!

Feeling appreciated! Thanks, families.

Using manipulatives to understand volume

We composed magnetic poetry on butter knives today, then "planted" them in dirt. The students came up with some beautiful verses. Things are looking up for the poetry unit.
