We began calling each other by our Russian, Aleut, and Kashaya pseudonyms this afternoon as we constructed authentic-looking 19th century journals from masking tape, card stock, and shoe polish. This month will be all about Ft. Ross, and every day will contain some amount of historical fiction writing, sewing, dancing, or singing to prepare us. We also may do some ocean stewardship with Save the Bay on Thursday, if we can get enough drivers. Stay tuned.
Homework
4th graders are to work on their geometry packet and multiplication sheet
5th graders should continue collaging examples of fractions, decimals, and percents in their math notebooks. They should also write about when people tend to use them.
All students should type for fifteen minutes and read for at least twenty.
| 5th grade mathematicians cut and pasted examples of fractions, decimals, and percents in magazines. |
| The Redskins wrote us back! It seems that we have a difference of opinions about the connotations of the moniker...the students were fired up! |
