Homework:
Math - 4th graders have a packet or can visit the Strawberry website; 5th graders can download the packet below and have a POW due Friday
Write: a half-page reflection on your deprivation. How did the plain clothes go today? What are you going to do tonight without Minecraft and cookies? Also, spend 15 minutes "just writing" in the personal essay genre
Read: as always, and response journal

Students wore plain clothes today and will again tomorrow as part of our "deprivation experiment." Many students gave up sweets or technology or another item for the next 48 hours to develop empathy for Indigenous peoples as they were moved onto the Missions. 

We are beginning to assemble foods for our feast. You can see store-bought acorn flour on the left, Cerrito-made acorn flour in the middle, and frybread on the right. 

Fifth graders continued their work with a 10,000 chart this morning.

Some art students are finishing their products.
