| Fifth graders worked on a 10,000 chart. They had to divide the chart up and label important "landmark" numbers. Then they had to locate numbers on the chart, like 4,532 – challenging work! |

| Students collaborated on a Voicethread today. Check out their responses, which range from really thoughtful and on point to totally silly. They will receive feedback on a rubric just the same as they would for a written assignment. We must recognize and attribute value to spoken and recorded demonstrations of understanding in addition to the traditional written ones. We also watched a music video by Sinead O'Connor with a powerful message about Ireland's Great Famine, a story that deeply parallels that of the Native Americans. |
