Homework:
Write for 20 minutes in writers notebook (choose a prompt from the personal essay list)
Math: 4th packet, 5th packet
Read: Island of the Blue Dolphins, chapters 20-24 by Thursday, and do reading group job. 

A fishbowl discussion of Island of the Blue Dolphins

Manzanita berries were used to treat poison oak rashes, make cider, sugar, or grind into flour. They're quite delicious. 

It was an all hands on deck kind of afternoon in cultural studies. Students wove baskets, measuring reeds out the old-fashioned way. Below, you can see them playing staves and crushing acorns. 

This student had a particularly colorful dance that went along with his staves roll.
