5th grade mathematicians made the connection between pattern and number today, snapping together multilink cubes and seeing what happen when you made different sized rows.

The "claim, support, question" thinking routine provided a framework for students to generate ideas and questions about the activity. The work will continue tomorrow.

Students did a "see, think, wonder" about one woman's Oregon Trail diary this afternoon. They will begin a new book tomorrow and hit the trail later this week after loading their wagons.
