Cerrito Creek

The Cerrito employees of the Russian American Company worked hard to complete their satchels today and began work on their journals. The photographs below demonstrate how they binded them with raffia, put down a base of masking tape on the cover, used Cyrillic text to inscribe their Russian names, and covered it with shoe polish to give at an old look. It's so great to be back with this wonderful class! Have a nice long weekend. The homework is to write a four-page entry in the journal, in the style of Dear America book, that uses a combination of fiction and historical fact to begin filling in the details about the student's character.
