Our trip got started a bit late this morning, for we had some social curriculum items that needed attention. To be more specific, we had to discuss the issue of rumor spreading and what to do when you hear a hurtful rumor or you become a victim of rumors yourself. Also, rough play has become too common on the playground, and we had to reset the guidelines for physical contact. If you have a chance to chat with your child about these issues over the weekend, you can augment the work we are doing in here. These discussions will be ongoing; these issues come up year after year.
We got going just after nine, and scored a perfect day on the reef. We saw all kinds of intertidal life, soaked many pair of tennis shoes, recited poetry on the beach, and basked in the December sun. A special thanks goes out to the drivers. See you on Monday for another spectacular field trip!
