Students began their week with some upside down drawing, which helps students draw a familiar object from an unfamiliar perspective. Artists see lines in space and try not to get caught up with their preconceived notions of "sunset" or "vase of flowers" or "pond with lilies."

Thanks for the flowers, Chang family.

Writers workshop. Students are typing their personal essays. A new Chanterelle will likely come out at the end of next week.

Middle schoolers (two of them ex-Cerritans), led our class in metta (compassion) practice this morning. It was a great start to No Name Calling Week.

The readers workshop is going great.
